I really want to say how thankful I am to everyone who supports rehouse to rehome.
Me and my children have been in our new home now for just over three week after fleeing from an abusive marriage. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be cooking a nice dinner for my children after we have lived on microwave meals and beans on toast since we moved in our new house.
We moved in with hardly anything, my husband got me in masses of debt, basically If I didn’t take out loans or borrow money he would make life really difficult for me and the children and sometimes beat me. For me to be able to get anything on credit now is virtually impossible but if I can get credit the repayments are so high that I can’t afford. I’ve had great support from my social worker who has tried everything to help us get the things we need but unfortunately we couldn’t get help with a cooker or washing machine.
We’ve had a toaster a microwave and a really small fridge and I’m thankful to have had those because when you’re in this kind of situation your grateful for anything. I’ve had sleepless nights wondering what to do and how I was going to get a cooker a fridge with a Freezer and washer, it’s surprising how much we take these things for granted and when you haven’t got them it makes you realise. I was desperate for something to just give me that little head start and this charity has given me just that and made life for me and my children so much more normal and better. Thank you all for supporting this fantastic charity because today we’ve had a new Washing machine, oven and fridge freezer delivered to our house, I don’t know what I would have done without the help of you and I just wanted to share this message with everyone to let you know how really grateful I am to have these things. Giving us these electrical items means I don’t have to worry I don’t have to get into any more debt I don’t have to worry about how I will afford to make repayments and I can wash clothes and cook enjoyable healthy dinners for my children. I can start rebuilding our lives and you don’t know what a difference this means. Tonight we’re having a roast dinner and the children can’t wait to bake fairy buns tonight.
