Kerry's Story

After I rang this charity they went above and beyond and gave me absolutely everything. These people made time to help us after moving people who had been booked in before me for weeks. They came around 9pm Christmas Eve and they was in the property, bringing everything in and turning it into a real family home until 1am Christmas Day morning.

I wanted to share and say the biggest thanks to this charity because Christmas would have been very different if you didn’t step in when you did and help me and my children so much with very little notice.
I left my husband in May, I really think that if I stayed any longer something very bad would have happened or I would have ended up dead because I do think he was actually capable of killing me.
It’s been hard for my children who have gone through this with me, they saw how their dad abused me and beat me up, they’ve seen and heard all of it. My 11 year old son is really quiet and nervous, he’s been really petrified of his dad but he tried to stop my husband from beating me the last time and then he got hit, shaken then thrown across the room. I knew it was time for us to run.

We’ve been in refuge since May and last week I was offered a property, if I didn’t take it we
could have had to wait in the refuge months until another property was available.
The thing was I had nothing only clothes, a fridge and a microwave.
After I rang this charity they went above and beyond and gave me absolutely everything. These people made time to help us after moving people who had been booked in before me for weeks. They came around 9pm Christmas Eve and they was in the property, bringing everything in and turning it into a real family home until 1am Christmas Day morning. I’ll never know how to show how thankful I am because it’s been the happiest, most peaceful and best Christmas ever.
Francine your an amazing woman, you still took time from your Christmas Day to come and see us and bring presents for all of us, your work is Just unbelievable. I’ve heard my children laugh at Christmas for the first time ever and all of this is the best Christmas present anyone could have given me and my children.

Thank you so much for everything you do.
